TRADITIONAL STEAM CHICKEN COOKED IN A NEW WAY

Trying a different way to cook your chicken, why not? If you are bored of grilled chicken or fried chicken, why not try steaming it with some simple Vietnam condiments?! Soft and sweet chicken with salty and scented salt. You might want to add this dish in your lunch or dinner dish!


This is always an ideal dish for dinner or lunch and especially delicious to use with white rice. It’s your turn to try this dish and tell us your thoughts!


Ingredients

Chicken: 1 (weights about 2kg)

Kaffir leaf: 50gr (thinly sliced)

Grinded garlic: 1 tablespoon

Grinded purple onion: 1 tablespoon

Lime: 1

Sliced pepper: 1 tablespoon

Crocus powder: half a tablespoon

Salt: 10gr

Fish sauce: 10ml

Pepper: 10gr

Sugar: 10gr

Viegou Pepper salt: 15gr




How to cook:

Step 1: Use a dish to mix grinded garlic, grinded purple onion, crocus powder, salt, pepper, fish sauce, sugar.

Step 2: Rub the mixture onto the chicken. Don’t forget to rub the inside too!

Step 3: Scatter kaffir leaves on the steam pot, put the chicken in and steam for 45-60 minutes until it is cooked. 

Step 4: Mix pepper salt, lime water and kaffir leaves on a ramekin. The sauce is done.

Step 5: Take the chicken out and it is ready to serve!
